π Guild Wars 2 Should I Use Level 80 Boost
You really dont need to "learn the class from the bottom up" the PvE in this game is SO poorly designed, SO easy that its not needed at all.4) Agree with first part. Disagree with the second. The PvE in this game is BEYOND easy. Unless you are doing High level factals or raids.
Mesmer is a chore to level because its so squishy without the defensive mechanics afforded by its Elite Specs, plus you donβt really get the satisfaction of good clone combat because most enemies die before you can summon enough. Itβs just not a great feeling. 14. asmallbeaver.
Exp from kills won't be very high as mobs that have recently spawned give less exp and mobs in story instances give no exp. Fastest exp will be from doing story instances, hearts, and events but if you're doing events with a lot of players then there will likely be a lot of mobs for your mob kill exp bonuses. 1. Murdyr.
If story and lore matter to you, sure go ahead and do you personal story. From a purely sylvari perspective, it is Season 2 that offers the most in lore. As for the boost, it's ok for an alt or for a very talented player. For the rest of us, it is a way of having too many different things to learn at once. In the long term, it is no biggie.
I picked up HoT and figured I'd get back into the game recently, and I got a token for a level 80 boost. I wanted to know if I should use the boost now, or if it's important for whatever reason that I go through the 1-80 experience. Yes to both. :) This is not well-explained in the game itself, but using the token does not consume it.
If leveling were difficult, then I would say just boost. Also, Guild Wars 2 encourages you to make alts and many of them. Most high end gear is account bound, so you're not redoing anything by making new characters. I would use your first character to play through the game and learn the ropes. Ultimately, go with what is the most fun for you.
Edelweiss.4261. Danikat.8537. Dashiva.6149. Biff.5312. Biff.5312. Enox.5870. I wouldn't say learn the class from leveling doing maps in PvE. Some classes you can but a lot of classes you aren't gong to be very efficient because completing maps in PvE is easy even if you jusr randomly press buttons.
1 Posted November 28, 2020 Hey guys, I'm new in GW2. And I used the boost item to get lvl 80, soo I tried to start the Heart of Thorns or Path of Fire journey, but I'm dying to much and having a low dps. Is there anything I should do before start quest's? Regards =) Linken.6345 Members 13.9k Posted November 28, 2020
Using the level 80 boost gives you a set of exotic gear, yes, but it will be bound to the character you used the boost on. On the other hand, you can use it on a character that has already reached max level, like your thief. If you don't want to use the boost as a way to bypass levelling another character, this might be the easiest way for you
The best profession to skip the "classic" leveling on would be mesmer, however mesmer is a tricky profession and it might be hard to understand it if you simply jump to lvl 80 with it. Then you might get bored of it and ignore it, or delete it and start a new mesmer to lvl it properlywasting your booster.
Get to learn the game from the in-game hints given to you through leveling normally. Once you're comfortable with how the game controls and how combat works, go ahead and pop it on a toon you like. You can trial the level 80 toon before you consume the boost. 2) So there are two systems in play here. Personal Story and Mastery.
Originally posted by Harrada: No matter how tempting it is, do not use your boost on your first character. You will end up being overwhelmed with too much information at once, and its going to put a damper on your new player experience. GW2 leveling is pointless, uninformative, drawn out content gating, and nothing more than that.
Boosting a character to 80 and obtaining a mount will forever damn you prevent you from experiencing a large Tyria. Mounts are useful for getting from place to place, but most importantly, they're used by veteran players to skip content. As another user commented in the thread, Tyria feels small when you're on a mount.
So I make a new character, and I immediately try to use my level 80 boost. Nothing happens. I got a pack of dyes and some 15 slot bags but my character is not level 80 and I didn't get the box of gear I thought I was supposed to get. Apparently I should have been teleported to the Silverwastes as well, but that also didn't happen.
What should I use my level 80 boost on? I have one of each class already and I have 2 of ranger and guardian. This char would most likely be alt parking, but I would like to eventually do some WvW with the cele stats, it comes with. My current WvW is cele Willbender. What do you reckon?
