Ronan was a member of the Shining Blade in the era of the Krytan civil war around 250 years ago. Sylvari on the other hand are 100% new to the world (charr, norn and asura also have GW1 backgrounds) but they got substantially fleshed out in HoT. The whole "Mordremoth could influence sylvari because they're plants" was the red herring presented during Season 2 (which, tbh, would have made much, much more sense than them being dragon minions given the numerous contradictions between sylvari and dragon minions such as the whole "sylvari don't absorb magic" or "sylvari don't have a hive It doesn't. All I was saying is that you're asking for something that makes the sylvari sound different from the humans, and that accent is it. I suppose they could have made their voices more breathy or ethereal like wind, but I don't know how they could sound more like a plant, since plants typically don't make sound. You find Gavin, a fellow sylvari, lying down and hurt - defend him against three waves of undead culminating with the appearance of a Risen Brute. I'm not a botanist but some of the sylvari names don't seem solely plant names. For example, Hortensia and Rhianwyn. The latter in particular is Welsh , based on a quick google search, so not all sylvari names are just plants, and there are some of celtic or celtic-adjacent origin names for sylvari. Caithe and Faolain returned to the Grove when the Pale Tree had begun producing a new generation of sylvari in greater numbers. The Firstborn had a meeting to discuss these Newly Awakened although each Firstborn had different ideas about how to handle them with some offering to name them Secondborn while others objected such categorization. My main Elementalist is Sylvari - Bright Red and Yellow obviously. The Fire Wizard trope demands it. But I have one for every other race too. Shamanistic Norn, elegant Elonian Water Sorceress, little grey and practical Asura and a more down to earth Olmakhan Charr. Sorry for being not helpful!
